The one star is for the first fifteen minutes of this film, after which I could not bear to watch any more. Slow paced, badly acted and pointless. I knew if I'd continue to watch I would have wasted my time. Don't bother.

I really enjoyed the scenes with Christina Hendricks and Joaquim de Almeida. They seemed to play well off of each other. Rachel Hunter's character bluntness was incredibly refreshing. I found Leisha Hailey's character and performance extremely annoying and that was the worst fake pregnancy belly I have ever seen.

It's difficult to dislike La Cucina-it's modest and sincere and never lapses into whining or pretentiousness-but the film doesn't offer much to admire, either. For as much conversation as there is about love and commitment and relationships, there's very little actual insight.
