Land of Bad
audience Reviews
, 93% Audience Score- Rating: 2.5 out of 5 stars"Land of Bad" is another in the vast sea of "war movies". This one stars two of the Hemsworth brothers as action tough army guys. It also stars Russel Crowe as a guy in the chair. And, after watching the film, the scenes of rescuing POW's and soldiers in gunfights, are already fading from my memory. Oddly enough the things that I will stick with me most from the film are the parts where it is Russel Crowe and the other members of the technical support group doing their thing. There is a charming slice of life vibe behind Crowe going out and trying to find special cheese for his pregnant wife. It is just the type of things you don't typically see in these films, but it humanized the soldiers in a more compelling way than any of the action beats did.
- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starsNot very sophisticated, but pretty good entertainment. Not everything makes sense, but who cares? C it!
- Rating: 4.5 out of 5 starsThis is one of the best military/action movies that’s been released the past few years. Liam and Russel both hit the mark and the rest of the cast was excellent. The action and set pieces were perfect, no over the top 30 mile long runways here. Going on my list of favorite modern age military/action flicks for sure.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 starsThe movie must have been made on a budget, 5 sets, parking garage, "SATCOMM", jungle, grocery store, and complex. Dialogue poor, continuity poor, logic poor, accuracy of military protocol - none, accuracy of drone technology - none, development of characters poor to none, scene in the grocery store is inane. Generally the movie is poorly written and acted, action scenes were weak at best and it was made for frankly made for analphabetic young males. It ranked very high in my list of bad movies, especially the closing scene.
- Rating: 4.5 out of 5 starsNon stop action and great special effects
- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starsThe sets, GFX/UI design and Russ make it a very cool film. Cinematography, colour and editing are top notch.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsA quality action film that leaves audience entranced with intensity. Russell Crowe is phenomenal in his gruff, yet emotional role.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 starsabsolute wasting time. Boring plot, characters
- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starsDefinitely missed the point of this films message. There were a couple woven in but they weren't overt enough to give you that ah ha moment if why this film is different than others of the same genre, but was entertaining at least. Not a waste of time to watch.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsI watched this movie last night and found it very entertaining for that specific genus. At times the special effects were very realistic and then there were some scenes that need to be edited for accuracy. Either way it was a good movie to watch.
