This movie relies on the performance of two and only two actors. That could be an issue but the performances and writing carry this movie seemingly effortlessly. Rather than getting tired of the scenes between Morales and Duplass, I actually looked forward to the next exchange between them.

The perfect movie. A whole story captures on Zoom calls - it's intimate, charming and fresh. A must see.

Mark Duplass and Natalie Morales collaborated on a charming film that is fairly predictable, but carried by the strength of the writing and performances of the duo. This is a covid-19 webcam film that isn't about covid. The concept and filming took place in lockdown/covid periods, but this film has no mention of either. Overall, it is an endearing movie that flies by and is well executed by Morales in her directorial debut. Final Score: 6.9/10

Language Lessons is a perfectly formed small film. A film about human connections, beautifully acted and written. An absolute two hander, this film was created during the pandemic but doesn't suffer at all from its small nature. Mark Duplass and Natalie Morales wrote this film together and are the stars as well. Morales was also the director and has done a great job. Adam is surprised by his boyfriend when he is given Spanish lessons. Adam actually speaks quite good Spanish so it's more of a brush up. His teacher is Carina and she is based in Costa Rica so lessons are conducted via Zoom. But despite the distance they have an instant connection and form a bond. Slowly they learn more about each other and become even closer when tragedy occurs. The two leads have great chemistry and turns this small film into a beautifully observed film about human connections and vulnerability.

I was so pleasantly surprised by this film. I was expecting a light and humorous romp with two actors I adore, but I discovered a gem of a film that is set apart by its depth, authenticity, and bravery to face difficult emotions with gentleness and heart. The subject matter is heavy and things get real fast, but it is explored with such gentleness and nuance (and sprinkled with plenty of laughs) that it was beautiful to witness. I was so impressed by the creative structure and the depth of the performances. It felt so real. Like you were literally a fly on the wall for these video conversations. Very well done! Kudos to Natalie Morales & Mark Duplass. Splendid acting and excellent direction. It's rare to come across a movie of this caliber. Highly recommend.

This movie is absolutely awesome and represents the online friendships one can have in a beautiful way. It's an amazing movie full of heart about a growing friendship between people and how you can connect with people and be important to others around the world. Perfect story with great leads and a realistic approach in a great runtime of 90 minutes although I wish it was just like 15 minutes longer, which just means, I wish I had more time.

Delightful. I wish it would have had a descriptive audio track, since the large volume of sub-titling was difficult for me to follow. Still the story was very well done, heartwarming and entertaining.

Raw. Touching. My husband and I love Mark Duplass, and I actually stopped being on PC to watch this film. Natalie was amazing - first time I've been introduced to this actress and director. I just loved everything about this film. So happy I got to see this. Well worth your time. I promise.
