Dylan Thomas comes alive with Rhys Ifans portrayal of him. I became curious of Thomas, his life, career because of this movie. I could not believe how Mr. Ifans had his tone, inflection and speech down so well! I had bought the DVD. It is money well spent.

There is something rotten in the state of tomatoes to laud the plodding Mank with cosarges of ivy and gold whilst leaving this magnificent celebration of a life in utter ruins, out in the cold. Beautifully shot, mostly in black and white with outstanding performances, particularly from Rhys Ifans as Dylan Thomas, bruised, decayed and almost operatic in his grubby little alcoholic suicide. In addition, the great voice and the great poetry roll on throughout.

Not a big fan of Dylan Thomas poetry but Rhys Ifans performance is engrossing an Oscar worthy. It's like watching someone fall off a cliff in extreme slow motion. A very sad film about the destruction of the creative human spirit.

This film is mesmerizing. Brilliant director, extraordinary acting, beautifully shot and written, impressive score. Poetical, emotive, honest and passionate. Genuinely a work of art!

Incredible performances and memorable, poetic dialogue. I enjoyed the way it breaks with the standard biopic structure we've seen far too many times and tries something new.

A unique film about the last days of the poet Dylan Thomas. I was captivated by the story, acting, and the unique style it was shot in!

I wasn't familiar with poet Dylan Thomas prior to watching this, which automatically made it harder for me to "be into it." However, after watching it: wasn't the case, the themes that are touched on are very relevant to our times (even though the film is set before I was even born). It's the type of film you have to watch till the end to completely appreciate and don't even get me started on the directing & acting...exceptional film.

What a fantastic film! Beautifully shot with terrific performances all round. Rhys Ifans has captured Dylan Thomas's character in great detail. Outrageous and gifted in equal measure. Bernstein has written a masterpiece and directed it beautifully. The performances of all the actors is a joy to behold. Sometimes it's not all about explosions, bank heists or laugh a minute comedies but more, it is about the appreciation of an artist, a poet and a man whose contribution to literary art is still celebrated today despite all his demons and antics. I would suggest that if you're going to see one film in 2021, then this one is it. Last Call captures everything that is good about writing, acting and cinematography and offers you an insight into Thomas's often turbulent life. All in all, a great piece of work.

If for no other reason than Rhys Ifans performance. The best I have seen this year, maybe last as well. It is incredible. Huge. The film itself is very good. The script is brilliant, but you have to be an English major to get all the references. I think too intellectual for most people. But sometimes flat out funny, particularly John Malkovich who steals every scene he is in. It wasn't fun seeing it in an empty theater in the middle of the afternoon, and it was sort of sad. I was thinking, this is a really good (if really dark) film. I wonder if any but me is going to see it?

Appreciating the fact that there are not many movies about famous poets out there I think that this is a wonderful excerpt in time that portrays what creativity looks like, especially under the influence. Not many movies are shot in black and white these days so it adds an element of old school. Our brains are trained these days to experience enormous amount of colour though this breaks that pattern uncomfortably which seemingly adds to the feel of the movie. I felt a fraction of what Dylan Thomas felt through the re introduction of black and white filming largely capturing the what he went through. Art is perspective and in my eyes this is art 🙌. Thank you Steven and the rest of the crew for a wonderful experience.
