This was bad on so many levels. The concept, the characters, the writing, the acting, the directing, the not-very-special-effects, and the ending were all among the most ridiculously benign montages of banality ever sequenced together on film. Not a single performance or piece of dialogue was remotely believable or interesting. You could spend your entire life searching and you would never find a single living human being as dumb as any one of the collection of characters in this awful movie. It's not even like Sharknado level bad where there are a few moments that are conceptually interesting on some level. This film is less interesting than watching a rotten tooth decay in real time. Avoid it at all costs.

Spoilers ahead: Points for a good idea, and a setting that isn't often shown to American audiences. But I would have loved a movie about how Black South Africans dealt with this kind of a crisis without a white savior narrative. The details are barely thought out and poorly executed. I didn't realize that American-ness equaled the ability to bend, fight and sprint after an appendectomy, although in this movie such major surgery done on a pool table with a piece of broken glass is apparently no worse than popping a boil, requiring no anesthetic or stitches, and doesn't bleed once the surgery is over and clean(er) clothes are found. There is barely an attempt to make connections between the characters, and no explanation of any that seem to already exist. Why is she sad this person is dead? Who was he to her? Why should I care what happens to these people? The main character is barely an anti-hero, and mostly just a douche.
