This movie is so underrated. It’s absolutely enchanting, meticulously aesthetic, hilarious, and gruesome. The allusions to film history are pristine (Georges Méliès? Yes, please!). This will be in my regular Halloween and Valentine’s Day rotation moving forward. It’s an instant cult classic.

An absolutely beautiful movie.. the casting was so on point and the feel was so 90s which the show is based in.. not common that a recent movie can give off such a precise timeline. The ending genuinely made me sob, [SPOILER] “Beloved wife” SOLD IT FOR ME.. however u can see where the inspiration came from, very Tim Burton-ey with the beginning exposition and the movie looks like a Edward Scissorhands spin-off.. still beautiful and enjoyable, the romance, the drama, the plot AMAZING.. Cole Sprouse did an amazing job that he doesn’t seem to get credit for.. and Kathryn Newton was phenomenal!!!!! I gave it a 4.5 just bc I would’ve loved a name for the creature and also for him to speak,, him not having any lines was a bit hard to feel the chemistry but later on in the movie it was really there.. I would 100% watch again and highly recommend<3 It’s unfortunate the movie didn’t get the best marketing bc I can see how it has the potential to become a hit classic like Jennifer’s Body

If you wrote this a bad review I hate you. I don’t think you people understand how much I loved this movie. This is my new movie. I’m watching it again after a day. Do yourself a favor and ignore critics they’re boring the people love this movie.

It begins like a typical 80s teen comedy, but is enriched with interesting and more serious elements without being too pretentious.

This film won’t be for everyone…but if you like horror comedy with an 80’s vibe you will love this film! Would not be surprised if it gets a cult following.
