The English dubbed has alot of swear words in it and the story can be a bit confusing as well as disturbing. Yet if you can deal with that, it's an ok movie. Ruri Hoshino is a great character and worth while being the centre of the story. So it's up to you if you see it.

Way better than the series, but couldn't he at least have stayed behind? So what if he glows?!

This was the movie that should never have been made. With many story arcs missing [from the game and comics, etc], there is an almost complete disconnect from the tv series. The whole tone of the movie swings between stupidsillythatisn'tfunny to overlysadanddepressing. As far as I'm concerned, this movie does NOT exist...

So... To take one of the funnier anime series and make one of the more depressing movies is quite a feat. Granted, this is right between two much bigger parts of the story (which take place in video game form) so it's sort of like getting empire strikes back without return of the Jedi... I may like it more if they'd released the saturn and dreamcast games in the US, but they didn't, so it's just hard to watch.

This would have been a great 13 episode OVA, but it doesn't work as an 80 minute movie. There is way too much crammed in and it is dissapointing when compared to the fantastic TV series.
