Mean Girls

I'm just gonna say it straight out: this film is not good at all in my opinion. To me, this is a film that tried to be a recap of the original while bringing new elements to the table, but that doesn't help this film at all. The cast tried and I love some of these actors too, but I felt that the script didn't help them be the best of their characters. The songs are not good or memorable to me, and the comedy didn't land other than one joke about Beyonce. Other than that, I really didn't like this film whatsoever, and I would rather just stick with the original.

This is a really fun movie. There are some parts that drag, but I still suggest seeing it!

This review is coming from a theatre kid who was in a production of mean girls the musical, and loves the original movie very much. This movie is not very good. Almost every good song from the musical is cut or downgraded (they massacred stupid with love). The actress for Cady Heron didn’t have the greatest singing voice, but Renee Rapp and Jaquel Spivey make up for it as Regina George and Damien. Renee was the only performance that i’d go to say was stellar, but everybody else was either average or below. Unfortunately, this is a musical movie that is ashamed to be a musical. It was not advertised as such, and many songs were cut. to conclude, go watch the actual broadway show if you want a mean girls musical.

Cady should’ve been played by someone else

This movie feels like someone was trying to sabotage it during the process. This is the only explanation that I have for how they turned solid original movie into a cinematic disaster.

I like Mean Girls 2024 better than Wicked 2024

Remakes are unnecessary in the first place. They should simply leave it alone. The acting is awful.
