No nonsense reenactments. Supreme emotional intelligence of all major creative aspects. Full of moments that gives a viewer a rare insight into realities during medieval times. Exceptional acting even of extras. Exceptional project delivery. Highly recommend.

Great movie, anyone who likes war epics/adventure movies should definitely see this. Brutal, visceral, unrelenting, it's definitely not for kids or the feint of heart, so disclaimers here, but Ben Foster shines as a historical military genius that's very understated, I had never heard of Cizka before I saw this movie.

Till Schweiger is, once again, a joke. Got me suspicious the first time a saw his face appear on screen. The narrative of the movie is fairly poor and you get no feel for the era, the character or character development. The latter happens in seconds and stagnates until the next step of evolvement. Story isn't convincing and barely believable. Outside money, likes and fame, the movie serves no purpose and even "300" feels like more historical education. Once again disappointed the thumps down button was removed by Netflix. Truly wastes the algorithm.

Disappointing period piece that does little to explore the fabled Jan Zizka, who truly deserves a proper movie. The cast is solid, with the always welcome Ben Foster playing Zizka nicely as a conflicted religious man with a brilliant military mind. Behind the camera, writer/director Petr Jakl tries to tell the story of Jan Zizka through his little known early life but doesn't quite get there. The action is nicely choreographed and brutal along with showing off Zizka's innovative military tactics, such as using armored carts like tanks. However, the story is thin and confusing, doing little to set up the history and Zizka's life. All in all, a disappointment in what should have been an epic movie.

Insist know what the critics are smoking: this movie was fantastic. Cinematography was breathtaking. Battle scenes were well shot. Ben Foster was great in the lead role (and his career trajectory has impressed me, I remember him from Six Feet Under). Michael Caine has a small but important role, and his presence gives the film some cachet. Anyway, immensely entertaining film; I was immersed from start to finish.

This motion picture is well done, Medieval, 2022 English-language Czech historical drama film directed-written by Petr Jákl on the story by his father, Petr Jákl Sr... A script by the leading actress, Sophie Lowe inspired me our Old Chinese saying that coming from "the Analects of Confucius" :-The Master said, " If a man in the morning hear the right way, he may die in the evening without regret"...

I enjoyed this movie, in part for introducing me to a remarkable historical figure I'd never heard of. It's gory in places, and I had a little trouble telling one bearded man from another at times, but the story is interesting and led me to read more about Jan Zizka, so I'm very glad I watched it.

I like how Rotten Tomatoes can't cope with the Z's in Zizka's name and just refers to him as Jan ika in the description of the movie.
