, 89% Audience Score- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsSo bad , I don't understand the mysterious reason they make scar is good he killed his brother he s evil and all of us know that songs was so bad the end was so quick although the movie itself was too slow. The first one much better...I think they need 2 play with our minds
- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsJeez, where do I start? The 2019 was clearly better, it was a literal live action of the original lion king. Sure not exactly the same but followed the same story and tone. I tolerated that one much better than whatever this is. This one had barely any depth and moved too fast, I was like “so we’re doing this now? What about what happened mere seconds ago?” Their connections were too EASY. Taka (Scar), Surabi and Rafiki built connections quickly. While in the 2019 one Pumba and Timon were hesitant to even cub Simba like “can we trust him? He’s still a LION”. Don’t get me started on Taka’s parent’s death. They moved on way too quickly from that. Like they were just murdered and they move on to humour like it never happened. And Pumba and Timon’s “comic” relief was too much, interrupting and ruining what little depth and suction we were trying to grasp onto. As well as Kiara, very dramatic. Kiara had more emotions to her parents LEAVING than Taka’s parent’s death. I would have preferred if Taka, Surabi and Rafiki took longer to build trust. “Our values/goals align so we’ll come along, but we don’t exactly trust you. YET.” And I would have preferred little intervention from Pumba, Timon and Kiara. Have it like all those other movies about stories. Wait till the end for the others to comment on. The only thing that saved it was the visuals, voice acting and music.
- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starsInteresting story line, would have been better in original Disney animated.
- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starsThe Lion King is probably my favorite Disney animated film. This movie was a lot of fun and just adds to the many was to continue enjoying this piece of Disney entertainment. The plays, the sequels, the live action remakes, and prequels too. The songs are goo with several being "catchy" like "brothers' and "bye-bye". The comic additions and the way the story is told was fun and overall I had a great time at the theater watching this movie even if it wasn't "better" than the original film.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsA prequel to “The Lion King,” the story follows a lost and orphaned lion cub named Mufasa who meets Taka, the heir to a royal bloodline, setting in motion a journey for a group of friends and misfits searching for their destiny. This film explores the early relationship between Mufasa and Taka, who would later become known as “Scar.” The visuals were impressive, along with the advancements to the photorealistic CGI, however, I don’t think that style of animation works for a musical film. The way the characters moved during certain musical numbers felt awkward. Speaking of the music, similar to “Moana 2,” the songs were pretty bland and forgettable for the most part. Don’t expect anything as catchy as “Hakuna Matata,” “Be Prepared,” or “Can You Feel the Love Tonight.” Even the main villain’s song, “Bye Bye” was cringy and weak compared to “Be Prepared.” I didn’t mind the vocal performances, they were fine. I thought Mads Mikkelsen was fantastic as the voice of the villain Kiros. I had a lot of issues with the story. I hated how they discarded the original story of Mufasa and Scar being biological brothers and made them adopted brothers instead. The photorealistic animation also made it difficult to tell who was who. I really wanted to enjoy this film, because Mufasa is such an awesome character, thanks to the legendary James Earl Jones, but in the end I was disappointed with the story and soundtrack. It was a mediocre attempt at a prequel/origin story, and unfortunately not a film I would re-watch multiple times anytime soon.
- Rating: 2.5 out of 5 starsYeah, Disney shouldn't have made this movie so called "live action"! The movie would have been better animated, because the story here is new and a good backstory for The Lion King! But the problem is the lifeless animals on screen, but a improvemnet on the 2019 movie, but it is not good enough! The soundtrack is also catchy, with some amazing songs This could have been a huge hit for disney however they decided this would fit better in live action than animation What a shame, but an ok watch for families!
- Rating: 2.5 out of 5 starsThe problem of this film is two things first the overused of the music and the length of it. First, using music is not bad and the songs are not bad yet not memorable, its just used way too much in scenes were I felt it was used to extend the film running time. Second, the time of the film is way to long the premise of this film is simple go this place yet the film took an hour and a half to get there where it could have skip scenes that were irrelevant to the story. Overall, not bad attempt to built on live action remakes of disney classics just need to correct the of mistakes of this one.
- Rating: 2.5 out of 5 starsI acknowledge the visual achievement and the improvements compared to the previous film (like the enlargement of the eyes to give it more of a cartoon feel), but I still don’t understand the point of making an animated film (because this isn’t live-action — it’s 100% CGI, from the characters to the sets) with such a realistic look, aimed at a young audience who doesn’t care and doesn’t need it. More importantly, it’s way too long for that same audience, who generally lose interest after 90 minutes. Especially considering that, 30 years after its release, the original animated film still amazes and remains iconic. Story-wise, it’s not bad, but it disregards the original backstory of Taka/Scar and Mufasa as told in the first film and the series of books that followed. So yes, it’s frustrating.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsVisually impressive but with a standard storyline and terrible songs!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsMufasa: The Lion King is a very good backstory for Mufasa. It tells the story very well and I can tell they worked hard to put the story together. I can tell they worked on it. Letter Grade: B
