Yet another cookie-cutter Christmas concoction going through the same tired routine as a trillion other holiday movies you're likely to see this or any other season. It's beginning to get increasingly difficult to review films like this - part of me just wants to copy and paste from earlier reviews and change a few names. But this movie feels particularly DOA - even the actors seem tired and portray their characters rather somnambulantly. Piven, in particular, acts as though her were trying to channel the spirit of Steve Carell, but he doesn't possess the humor or the pathos of Carell's best performances. And Richardson is absolutely wasted in such a throwaway role that one can't help but wonder why in the world she agreed to appear. Perhaps the filmmakers have dirt on her?!?! The chemistry between the cast is non-existent, almost shockingly so. Piven and Barrett are supposed to be father and daughter, but you'd think they were third cousins twice removed who just met each other three days ago. Having unexpectedly lost my mother shortly before Christmas a few years ago, this is going to inevitably have a scene or two that hits me in the gut. But that's due to human nature and not any accomplishment by the filmmakers.

Not the best movie you'll ever see but it was intertaining. Had some great lines in it that kept me laughing.

It was a nice Christmas story, certainly not a joyous or uplifting story since it deals with losing loved ones and how we miss them around the holidays.

It's not one of those banal Hallmark Christmas movies. It's not a family friendly puppet movie. It's a Christmas film for adults, which there aren't enough of. It is a family drama but not for children, they won't get it. It's just a fine holiday film for the season.

It was a good story with both comedic moments and emotional ones. Good acting.

Great acting and one of the best written movies about overcoming grief and the trials people go through. Don't watch unless you want to see how great people are in a non-upbeat happy way.

5 stars for someone having the balls to create this, and then putting Piven in as the leading man. Never saw this one, only came across the ads when I was in film promotion, and I thought it looked so horrible it needs an honorable mention. I can't imagine having to sit through this one for a proper critique, but, maybe if you did a lot of drugs? FYI: Don't do drugs kids, they aren't good for you...

Jeremy Piven is hilarious in any role. And this is no exception. A funny yet emotional movie for the holidays.

I THINK THAT THE MAIN FLAWS OF THIS MOVIE WERE ITS OLD FASHIONED SOUNDTRACK....ALL THE SONGS SEEM COMPOSED FOR A 1940 OR 1950 MOVIE NOT FOR A 2020 ONE....AND THEY SOUND VERY BADLY....IT ALSO SEEMED TO ME A RARE FACT THAT A 16 YEAR OLD GIRL WAS SO PROFICIENT IN DANCING OLD JAZZ TUNES...SHE MAY BE FROM ANOTHER WORLD... THE OTHER FLAW IS THE EXTREME RELIGIOSITY OF THE TOWN BECAUSE THEY WENT VERY OFTEN TO THE CHURCH (AS THE MAIN GATHERING OF THE TOWNS PEOPLE)...IT SEEMS THAT THE TOWN WAS INHABITED ONLY BY ORTHODOX CHRISTIANS...NO JEWS,NO MUSLIMS NOT ANY OTHER FOLK BUT ORTHODOX CHRISTIANS....
