A frightening look at the occupation of Ukraine by the Nazi's during WWII, and the life of a Jewish girl who escapes the ghetto by passing as a Christian in a country that hates Jews, with everyone suspicious, and Nazi atrocities happening all around her to everyone. Just an incredible look into a period of deprivation, and life and death moments. Gripping. Beautifully filmed. Perfectly acted. Incredible direction. Amazing script. Puts you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end. It should be required viewing by everyone.

Was a true story and gave you a good idea of what life was like during WW II

Fascinating story. Excellent portrayals. Excellent photography. A good lesson for the horrors of WWII.

Well acted and directed.

This movie gave you the horrors of the Nazi occupation through both the eyes of an antisemitic Ukrainian family as well as those of a young Jewish girl in hiding whose own family was torn apart.. Without showing the inside a concentration camp all the ugliness, death and hatred of the period was fully exposed on many sides. The acting was terrific and the story unfolded as both real and authentic throughout.
