This movie is an amazing illustration of our current days. We live a spiritual fight between good and evil, and the movie portraits it just right. I love the fact that it shows it does not matter what one believes, an atheist will suffer same consequences.

A very good movie with great acting and well written. I was not brain washed as many reviewers seemed to fear!

What a complete waste of 90 minutes that I’ll never get back. Wouldn’t consider this movie to be a horror in the slightest.

The idea of demonic possession being the reason for a man’s malevolent behaviors is nonetheless an interesting concept, and this film portrays it with an outstanding ensemble cast and superb acting by the two main characters.

In this story, psychiatrist Dr. James Martin has to evaluate if serial killer Edward Brady is clinically sane to withstand death sentence, which should happen on the same date at night. But Edward is not willing to claim insanity: he wants execution for he is a really a demon with a purpose. "Nefarious" is loosely based on the novel "A Nefarious Plot" by Steve Deace, which I have not read. I read the synopsis and some of the reviews on the novel, and seems like both stories are not linked, the movie being a reinterpretation of some events from the book or a scoped-down version that focus solely on the demon and faith. "Nefarious" plays on a largely overused theme: faith. After "The Exorcist", and perhaps "The Exorcism of Emily Rose", and a few other entries, we might have exhausted the theme to the point were nothing else is fresh, but Nefarious is a cool spin on the demon possession genre. Now, action is completly abscent in this story. "Nefarious" is a long dialogue between James and Edward that exposes James's life to its core, while slowly revealing Edward's real intentions. The realism on the speech lines, and the facts that the self-proclaimed demon exposes about faith, humanity, and demon purposes are superb. However, the slowness might be hard to bare; action-lovers and Alpha Gens might dismiss this flick for its boringness, but, if you are a true story affictionado, I say "Nefarious" is worth your time, even though it's not a masterpiece. Sean Patrick Flanery steals the show playing Edward. Top-notch performance. The ending was a tidy-bit disappointing. Considering the spyral path James had to undergo, I expected a darker ending. Not bad, but uninspired considering the baldiness "Nefarious" had so far. Overall, solid, but not remarkable. Okay for story lovers, fans of scientific-based, lore-driven horror; not okay if you like jumpscares, monsters, action.

I see a lot about it being bad and not being horror the real horror are these comments proves everything the movie states so terrifying, you being oblivion to this evil is the real terror, The relieve of an horror movie is it not being real but this! This is real The battle is real If you’re not in Christ you’re losing The devil and his demons are not your friends There’s nothing like spiritual guides, any thing you can’t trace to Christ is evil if you’re not for God you’re against him The enemy dispises you and will do everything to make you lose that eternal life, they hate that God loves you so much while they are condemn for all eternity they have nothing to lose but you have everything lose Any form of manipulation is witchcraft and evil May the peace of the lord be with you all

I was highly impressed by this film the acting from Sean Patrick Flanery how he could swap between characters of the Demon and Edward was very impressive This film is a psychological horror. I would recommend this film to many many people one of the best films I’ve seen in a long time.

Demagogic and obviously made by someone who was damaged by organized religion. The acting is atrocious. The script is overly didactic. Keep in mind if you watch this movie that most of the positive reviews probably come from people who were in their upbringing terrified by the idea of going to hell. Jordan Belfi is out of his depth even in a movie where nobody is any good. Sean Patrick Flannery rocks back-and-forth, wheezes through his teeth and blinks cartoonishly. And this goes on for an hour and a half. Abandon all hope ye who enter here.

Though this was amazing. Would think it would make a brilliant stage play too.

Das ist der Versuch, einen pro-christlichen Horrorfilm zu machen und der Beweis, dass man als religiös Verbrämter so was richtig cooles einfach nicht hinkriegt.
