Incredibly moving slow-paced film that feels so authentic, at times, it comes off as a documentary. Chief Dave Bald Eagle plays Dan, an elder hoping to use an author to correct the record on how the Native Americans have been treated. The film was adapted from Kent Nerburn's novel of the same name. The acting is stiff, as is the filmmaking, however the messages messages delivered ring so true. It can't be said enough that we were barbaric in our treatment of Native Americans. We should all be ashamed. At the worst it's a good film, but at it's best it could be a life altering moral. Final Score: 8/10

Very interesting perspective. I've always felt the NA was treated terribly. I enjoyed seeing this from their perspective.

Incredible story! This movie had such an impact on me. The acting was superb and the filmmaking incredible especially given the small budget. You need to watch this film! You won't be disappointed.

This is an excellent film! It is quiet and meaningful and lovely. My 14 year old son watched it and loved it as did my husband and I.

A MUST see.....one if the most moving performances I have ever seen by 95 year old Dave Bald Eagle! This movie is an instant classic and it highlights the indigenous Native American point of view which is so often overlooked or completely ignored. Every performance is worth seeing.....DON'T MISS THIS MOVIE!

This should be required viewing for all Americans. The wide open space of the plains gives the perfect backdrop for the emotional journey of the characters.

This film is an honest and thought provoking view of the impact of Westward Expansion on First Nations peoples. I am so glad my family was able to watch this together and discuss our collective and individual reactions.
