Obv. the silver spoon critics don't like this movie. WHICH MEANS IT'S HILARIOUS! I'm not a fan of romantic comedies, but Tyler Perry killed it! The female characters are written and performed amazing. I full on cackle and loud laugh. Maybe it's because I've known people like this, but I couldn't be more moved by the characters. Tanya, and Kalli are my hands down favorites. Frank is well rounded as the love interest without taking over the focus from Danica. If you have friends from the school of hard knocks, this movie is for you.

really didn't enjoy this one as it was nasty and not funny either

You can see that the reviews are pretty polarized between the extremes of 1 and 5 stars. Yes, the rom-com portion is a bit contrived and predictable. Yes, the comedy was a bit crass and maybe a little disgusting, but it mostly worked because Tiffany Haddish has the most inimitably funny delivery! I'm pretty uptight, but I actually laughed at some of her scenes. I like Tika Sumpter but her Danica character was soooooooooo irritating. She was so stupidly and stubbornly obsessed with following her list of romantic ideals. It's not realistic that anyone would resist a cute, kind (and good looking!) guy like Frank.

Disappointing. I love Tiffany Haddish and I love the concept of the movie about a woman being catfished and her crazy sister trying to help her find out who it really is. I don't even mind the little love story with the barista. But this movie was just bad. It was so all over the place. I felt like I was watching every episode of Friends or HIMYM at the same time. That whole "will they, won't they" thing got annoying very quickly. SPOILERS ARE FOLLOWING SO STOP READING NOW IF YOU HAVENT WATCHED IT. I would have preferred if they spent more time on the whole researching who the guy was, and had Nev and Max actually go with the characters to confront the catfish. I also wish they would have just kept the story line a little more simple, let it just be a catfish and not have that stupid "plot twist" where she was taking to the real guy the whole time. It did not make sense, and it elongated the movie unnecessarily. Like they should have just had her find out he was a catfish, then had her get with coffee shop dude and that be it. Not this whole back and forth thing where he is a catfish and then she gets with coffee dude and then all of a sudden homeboy isn't a catfish anymore! So she gets with the original guy only to realize original guy sucked and ended up back with the barista annoying!!!! If people wanna watch this just stop after the part where she meets the catfish guy and leave it at that.

Tiffany Haddish plays a woman just out of prison who begins her newfound freedom staying with her successful sister played by Tika Sumpter who is in an online relationship that her sister believes is fake. Haddish is a bit over the top as the foul mouthed tough girl. She has some funny lines but some of it just feels forced. It's a pretty good rom-com, but not one that is overly funny and or romantic.

I enjoyed every minute of this movie! Great story, great characters. May not be award winning acting but this was a refreshing Rom Com that can and should be enjoyed by everyone!
