If I'm not mistaken, this is based on a short film and has been stretched to feature length -- it feels like it. There's just not quite enough material here to warrant a 1 hour 30 mins. run time. That being said, it does have a wonderful base idea, it's beautifully shot, and what's there is well-written with the film itself rising on Maria Leon's fantastic performance as her likeable character who you can't help but root for. It's romantic and bittersweet, but also delivers a powerful message with a great, impactful ending, all of which helps elevate it beyond the sum of its parts.
