There are no bells and whistles in this Western but none are needed. Short and sweet and engaging. Tim Blake Nelson is typically excellent and the supporting cast is solid.

This western is just like they used to be made…only better. I'd rank this right up there with The Good, The Bad and the Ugly, and the other great spaghetti westerns from back in the day. The lead actor is incredibly talented.

One of those movies that you just say hey I don't see anything else on. Let me watch it and it turns out to be an incredible movie.

Filme implacável quando se trata de uma história mediana contada de uma forma que entretêm o expectador. Foi de arrasar.

Outstanding film. The character of the son is annoying and lacks any real nuance, hence the loss of a half star, but the rest is so well put together. The Eureka moment was really great - I'm sure a lot of people would have put it together a lot quicker than I did but if you didn't, like me, it was as good a reveal moment as you'll experience. Storyline and premise are superb and it isn't overtold. Kind of "western-meets-Shakespeare" vibes. Recommended.

Slow burn with solid buildup, definitely pays off. Good soundtrack too.

A more artful western than one is generally accustomed to. The balance between shootouts and pensive moments made for an engaging story that holds on to the viewer, even through the whizzes and pings of gun fire. Story was a bit heavy on the tell vs. show side of things, making it feel like more of a mainstream script than an indie, but wasn't so much so that it made the film unlikable. Dialogue felt like an old western, in a way that wasn't satisfying to this modern viewer--too much obvious give and take, actors waiting patiently for their turn to read a line. But, it does, in that way, harken back to a different era of film that may be satisfying for others. All in all, an entertaining watch--nicely shot, nicely constructed, and short and sweet.

All-around one of the best movies I've seen in many, many years. Don't tell your friends anything about it other than "watch it"!
