Operation Fortune: Ruse de guerre
audience Reviews
, 82% Audience Score- Rating: 2.5 out of 5 starsEver since the start of the decade, I have been loving Guy Ritchie's films! The Gentlemen was absolutely fantastic and Wrath of Man, I think, is very underrated. Which is why I was so excited about Operation Fortune, and so disappointed after seeing it. The action is decent, some of the writing is cool, and Hugh Grant is loving every second he's in this film. But the characters are dull, the pacing is slow, the structure feels disjointed, and the ending is anticlimactic. Recently, Guy Ritchie's movies have been so energetic in some way, shape, or form, that the worst thing I could imagine would be if one of his movies were boring. And, though this film is watchable, it is, unfortunately, pretty boring.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsIt was an entertaining movie at best
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsjust more guy richie without the charm of his early work. starts off strong but begins to unravel and lose coherence quickly before the middle of the first act, with the second half of the third act dragging on and on until you look up and it's over and you don't care that you missed the last 30 minutes. if you're in the mood for richie's shtick, it will give you something to do.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsLove the action, comedic relief, and luxury ✨
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsActually kinda decent. Glad I took a gamble seeing this in theaters, as it was a day I could have used the distraction, but I think most should wait for streaming unless you really like Guy Ri
- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starsUsual Guy Ritcie style. It works
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsMy husband and I loved this movie. The whole cast was great and there was never a boring or slow part. Entertaining with some fun surprises. I wish it was in more movie theaters.
- Rating: 4.5 out of 5 starsVery entertaining watch. Hugh Grant was absolutely fabulous- very different role for him. My husband and 20 year old daughter enjoyed this amusing action film.
- Rating: 1.5 out of 5 starsOn the surface I was attracted by the fact it was a Guy Ritchie movie. It also had a very cool cast, Jason Statham, Aubrey Plaza, Hugh Grant, Josh Hartnett, Cary Elwes etc.. I was hyped, what could go wrong ? Once the film ended, I found myself empty with no emotion, much like this film and it's cast.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsGuy Ritchie is one of my top 10 favorite directors of all time so I was really excited for this one. I had a fun time though I will say that this movie is a little safe. Don't get me wrong Jason Statham and Hugh Grant are as spectacular as always, especially Grant who seems to feel comfortable to play against type with Ritchie. Bugzy Mallone shows off some great charisma and Cary Elwes is super charming. The cinematography is actually spectacular with lots of james bond type flair. Unfortunately, the pacing at the end runs to the finish line to fast like it can't wait to be over and Aubrey Plaza is very bi polar in her performance hoping between youthful spunk and gratingly annoying. A fun movie and definitely better than Swept Away, Revolver, and Aladdin 2019, but compared to Ritchies other work it's very forgettable.
