    Boring and not particularly insightful.

Some, or most, may not get attached over the slow pacing with nothing being much eventful. Either treat the film as a showcase or a romantic display of realism over relatable discourses to boot with occasional unspoken meanings. With a simple title rightfully described, it's correct to assume there's more in poetic senses and matched by resonating performances from Neeson and Manville's chemistry. After watching the film, it's a nice picture that displays love being casually strong when going through hardships. (B)

EXCELLENT! This is a beautiful love story which happens to very few. A story about real love.

The depiction of nervous banter and proto-argumentation fills the scene with everything we can muster on our own in this situation, a la grunting and groaning. The obligatory social rounds also belie another circling around death. Yes, we don't know what else to say, but then, why can't the fictionalizing writer, nor the improvising director? This felt more like a National Geographic on human death practices. No signs of life, fake doctors.

This is quite a touching film, a domestic drama about a middle aged couple going through an understandably tough time. There's a fair amount of symbolism present, with the pet fish and other things. I could understand the wife's concern and assumptions at times, I feel I may think similar things, if I were to be in her position. I thought the cast do well - Manville and Neeson both give quite solid performances. Indeed, it seemed quite believable that they were a married couple. The thought that so many, probably hundreds, if not thousands, of such married couples/families/people go through the process of cancer diagnosis and treatment in the UK, is a sobering thought indeed. I thought this was a well made film. I like how it shows the affection they have for one another, without being overly and unnecessarily sugary sweet. It's a thoughtful film that treats the topic well. It highlights the importance of expressing things, of opening up to other people, while undergoing such treatments - of admitting fear and vulnerability. I would recommend this film, yes.

The highlight here is seeing Liam Neeson play a different kind of role. The story struggles along, but the acting is solid. Filming too. It is just that this movie fills time. It doesn't compliment it.

Ordinary Love may not be the most uplifting of films, but it's full of poignant love. We follow a very real relationship with tender performances by the leads. Nothing extraordinary happens but it's far from ordinary.
