Out of Death

The film squanders one or two promising plot ideas, and winds up making a hamfisted paean of praise to the idea of "open carry" gun ownership.

The budget constraints are pretty obvious although the movie works around it the best it can. Far more noticeable is the acting which, outside of King, is pretty bad. Even the usually reliable Willis struggles.

[Willis] just seems bored, tired or both. The feeling's contagious.

This a sub-generic almost-action movie with a screenplay so threadbare, daylight screams through it like a rabid banshee.

Willis fails to give anything in his performance that could be worth a watch, even for his hardcore fans.

Yet another in a string of micro-budget Willis "action" movies, this thriller looks and feels slapdash. It ignores plot threads, takes lazy, sloppy shortcuts, and ultimately adds up to little.

Those with a passing knowledge of Bruce Willis' ever-growing list of VOD credits know that this is a one-and-done scenario which saw the Die Hard star on set for one day before the rest of his material is shot by a follicly-challenged stand-in.

The cryptic title is about the only intriguing facet of this formulaic cat-and-mouse thriller.
