Pearl

I highly highly, heck I’ll go for a third one, highly recommend the movie Pearl on Paramount+. I would call it a drama, but it is also occasionally a horror film. The closest comparison would be the movie Psycho, but with the color pallet of Wizard Of Oz. I feel like if this were the 70s, it would at least have been nominated for an Oscar for best actress and best supporting actress. I think horror gets less respect now, for whatever reason, even though it has a lot of revered classics like Psycho. If there was an oscar award for best credit sequence, it should absolutely win it. Also, I highly recommend watching it in one sitting, I feel like this would really lose it’s charm if split in two. If you’re a fan of cinema, I think this isn’t to be missed.

Production design, and acting were spectacular. The story was a little truncated, Would have loved to see more of the transformation of Pearl and especially Howard to become the characters they are in X. Perhaps that's going to be the one after Maxxxine..... when Mia is a little older, set in the 40's and 50's.

Easily makes list of best all time horror. Everything about the plot is well-formed and perfectly X-ecuted by Mia Goth.

This movie was really good and its deeply disturbing actually no its really fresh and its a movie I've have enjoyed despite it being disturbing its really good like Mia Goths acting is amazing the cinematography is pretty great and I just really like A24 movies just because a lot of them are really good like this one. It's the sequel to X but Pearl is definitely way better than that because i don't really like ya know but overall this post villain story is pretty great and can't wait to watch MaXXXine

Amazing movie. I like X more, but just by a little bit. Mia Goth's performance was incredible and I thoroughly enjoyed the writing of Pearl's character. It was so on point that I didn't see it when it first came out because it hit too many raw nerves, but then I saw X and I had to see it. I cannot wait until the next installment comes out.

Mia Goth pretty much singled handedly carries this creepy tale with an exceptional Jekyll and Hyde performance (a very demented Hyde at that!). Simon Pegg's performance is especially eerie, given he does not utter a word for the whole movie. It takes a wild to build but the foreboding of what is to come starts as soon as Goth comes on screen. This is part of the trilogy featuring Pearl (part 3 is not far away) and certainly has a different atmosphere to ‘X', given it focuses very much on Pearl's life and emerging insanity as an origin story for the character If you enjoyed ‘X', you should enjoy this, but in a different way.

So unique in color, story and character!
