The Ramsays gave the audiences what they were known for - some blood, some gore and a campy, spooky experience with Purana Mandir.

This Bollywood horror film kicked off the "Doom Boom", and deserves its status as a classic!

So Puneet Issar was the bollywood version of superman. Puneet Issar is in this movie. I don't know what else you have to know to convinvce you to see it. There is some story about a decapitated monster who liked to rape and pillage before he was decapitated. He cursed the king and every woman in his family for cutting his head off. Flash forward a couple hundred years and the kings daughter is falling in love with a kid from the slums. OH NO! Not sure what is going on in this film, but it's amazing. This was really the first bollywood horror film, and supposedly controversial at it's time. All I know is it's good camp fun and I want a mustache like Puneet Issar.

Along with "Bandh Darwaza" on the same DVD set, my first exposure to Indian horror. Once you get past the teeth-grating comedy relief (I'm sure the "Sholay" parody worked fine for Indian audiences, and I may have found it funnier if I'd ever seen "Sholay" myself, although I'd still be wondering what the point of it was), it's a surprisingly good film, and the last hour is extremely effective.

This film used to scare us when we were kids, but now it's just funny, maybe because it looks pretty dated. Still, it is a bit different to most Bollywood films. The scenes which spoof Sholay are completely pointless to the plot and ruin the continuity, although there are a few funny moments, and maybe were added in to offer a little light relief from the horror, which isn't that bad in the first place.

Atmospheric and fun Bollywood horror. Surprisingly, it's very, very entertaining and you can also play "guess the stolen soundtrack", but word to the wise, always guess Friday the 13th and you'll be right 99% if the time.

All must bow down to the Ramsay Brothers. This creative 80's bollywood horror gem is one of my absolute favorites and I suggest to those who are seeking a new horror genre to enjoy this. There is plot and such but really the only thing that is understandable is that women with large chests arenbeing chased by a guy in bad makeup effects with some dancing and singing in between. Good times.

Thank God for the movie nerds that I know in this small world because I would never have discovered this weird, funny, sexy and off beat movie from (the ever growing in it's popularity) Bollywood. It's a horror story about a demon who curses a family for generations (200 years to be exact)and a couple in love is eager to end this curse or prove the curse wrong. This movie will get to you at times with it's really off the wall sub plots and random musical numbers, but I haven't seen enough Bollywood to really determine what's good or not to their standards. But, this particular film was never uninteresting. That's gotta count for something.
