Bizarre and silly. Perhaps that's what this world is coming to? Although I didn't identify with much of it, it still entertained. Saw on Hulu.

Honestly when the movie started I had high hopes. The first half hour was great and intriguing. Then, everything you think is gonna happen, just doesn't happen. He never really finds a solution for his problems and the movie just kinda ends.

Small cast, quiet, introspective yet funny film. Enjoyed it quite a bit. Not a lot happens, but that might have been the point. The past can hurt us and keep us from growing, which this film does a good job at reminding us of. It's important to forgive past wrongs, grow from them and become stronger.

A hilarious emotional rollercoaster that dives into what to expect if your estranged mother dies.

This movie had so much potential but fell so flat. I even hate saying this because I love Jake. I had to FF thru the phone calls because they were too silly & unrealistic. Just a weird energy to it

Really well acted with old fashioned traditional story telling. An uplifting grief and reconciliation film.

Overall, bringing a pleasing combination of drama and comedy, Ride the Eagle is an enjoyable film with heartfelt and comedic moments.  Jake Johnson's pleasing and rather likeable performance meant I found myself quite invested in his character. Side performances from J.K Simmons and Susan Sarandon felt brief, but they both still delivered highly effective moments. The pacing is great for the most part, but I felt the film's weakest moment was the finale which seemed slow and vague. The humour managed to make me chuckle several times, but sadly some sexual jokes just didn't quite work for me or overstayed their welcome. In the end, I can't deny how much heart this film has, and I had a positive time watching one man's journey to rediscover himself.

So heartfelt, honestly, and funny. Can't wait to see more from Jake Johnson.

Airplane movie in every sense of the phrase. Watch this on an airplane and then never think about it again
