Ride the Eagle

It's a bit indulgent but, still, a gentle watch.

"Eagle" might be modest and simple but it's also rewarding, a gentle comedy-drama about letting go and growing up.

It's a pretty good, genial, offbeat movie.

Seldom face to face, the characters still connect in the sweet comedy about a man whose inheritance comes with conditions.

Good intentions aside, this sluggish film never soars beyond its innate contrivances and frequently flat, knee-jerk humor.

A film that will only spark curiosity because of the circumstances surrounding its existence rather than anything about the story itself.

This is a slender but sweet take on how life, love and loss never go to plan.

A genial comedy even if it never delivers much of a punch.

Even if it does not stray too far from the path of what one might expect from this sort of film, it'll still manage to leave smiles on most faces thanks primarily to Johnson, the beating heart of the story, and his wonderful chemistry with Carden.

The film is nothing ground-breaking but it is an enjoyable story and interestingly played out, plus the cabin by the lake views are extremely pleasing.
