While Rubikon had the potential to be a great movie with its compelling premise, the story dragged on, lacking sufficient tension between crew members to keep it interesting.

I could not get past the first 10 minutes before I wanted to yawn and nod off. Low budget films don't bother me but they at least grab my attention in some respect.

Rubikon will put you to sleep faster than carbon monoxide. Consider yourself warned!
  • Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars
A space drama that makes three people question their way of life, what they did in their past, and what to do with their potential future.
  • Rating: 4 out of 5 stars
Mood drama with well acted, taut, claustrophobic action. Unexpectedly well done. Don't expect explosions or CGI but rather a story about moral decision, sacrifice, and the sanctity of life.

Highly recommended if you suffer from insomnia

Snooze train. Really bad movie with no actual suspense or engaging plot. Waste of my free time.
  • Rating: 0.5 out of 5 stars
A story so bland that you too will throw yourself out of the nearest airlock and finally be at peace, floating along as a space corpse. It's just so boring and brings less than nothing to the table other than a few nice visuals. Do yourself a favor and watch Solaris (2002) instead.

‘Rubikon' poses some difficult questions, but has neither the depth nor intelligence to answer them in any real meaningful way which leaves us with a somewhat iffily-acted, drawn-out film that ends up being a disappointing experience.

No superheroes, no breathtaking action scenes, no answers. Despite the low budget a solid and pleasantly different sci-fi film by a young director from Austria.
