Started off VERY predictable and slow. Almost shut if off but was hoping they didn't take the audience for a bunch of idiots and there would be a plot twist somewhere. I actually ended up watching the movie at 1.5x and it worked much better. Still slow in spots and predictable, but it did get a bit interesting as it progressed. Recommended watching at 1.5x or 2.0 speed. They talked so slowly had no trouble understanding them at all.

You don't want to end up in Rust Creek Sawyer is a young college student who's just gotten accepted to a job interview in Washington DC Fearing she'll get made fun of she decides to skip Thanksgiving with her family Sawyer gets stuck in traffic on a thruway so she takes an alternate route but unfortunately she ends up stuck in the middle of nowhere in the Appalachians A few guys start harassing her and she tries to flee running into a young man named Lowell, a guy who deals in meth Lowell tries to help Sawyer get away safely from his cousins Director Jen McGowan has great leading performance by Hermione Corfield there's no doubt about that It's just that the film itself is shockingly underwhelming It fails to generate enough energy to be thrilling

Deliverance for girls? Deliverance was a MUCH better movie, but this film is still interesting to watch. The characters don't do completely stupid things like most Netflix films. The fight scenes where she beats off at least 3 full sized men are ridiculous, but if that is the only problem, not too bad. I was actually interested the most in the meth cook.. in my opinion, the most sympathetic meth cook in Hollywood, including Breaking Bad.

Slow to start but increasingly more complex dynamics and tension as it progresses towards a somewhat routine and predictable ending.

Visually, ‘Rust Creek' is a low-budget affair which, in this case, serves to give it a sense of realism when all of the Hollywood glitz and glamour is missing and you only have your locations to rely on. As for the story, with the exception of the middle act where it offers something a little different and hints at some depth to the narrative that it doesn't really know what to do with (I'm not sure it blends well with the rest of the film anyway, but it's an interesting idea), it finds itself in very standard thriller territory that you've definitely seen many times before (someone gets lost in a rural area and hunted by rednecks) and ends exactly as you'd expect it to. Entertaining enough to pass time with some taut scenes, but overall, it's not particularly memorable.
