Critics are dumb. This movie was fun. 4 stars.

This is not as bad a movie as many critics and audiences make it out to be. Essentially, it's a ‘switch off your brain and enjoy the silly ride' type of movie, and well worth your time if you enjoy a good superhero movie…especially when you can stream it for free! The ensemble cast are fun to watch and the action scenes are plentiful, and for the most part, engaging. I can see why the film bombed at the box office. If you saw the trailer for this on the big screen, I can appreciate why people would look at it and think ‘Nah, I'll give that one a miss…I'm not paying to see that'. The effects are not the best (a bit ‘cartoony' I guess is an apt description), and the film comes across as a ‘made for TV' movie. All that said, in summary, it's a fun movie and well worth watching for fans of superhero movies (provided you have seen the first Shazam movie).

Fun movie with lots of action and humor. Lucy Liu and Helem Mirren were great villains.

I thought it was better than part 1. I put this movie on my to eventually watch list. Is too bad it didn't so well at the box office but I also contributed to the low profit I guess. I highly recommend the movie 🍿. Watch it with the whole family.

Holding on to its (mostly) light-hearted tone, while showcasing a few heartwarming character arcs and entertaining action, Shazam 2 still has a lot of engagement and humour to give.

David F. Sandberg and Zachary Levi return for the follow-up to the 2019 DCEU hit New players come in the form of Helen Mirren, Lucy Liu, and Rachel Ziegler Billy Batson has adjusted to his foster family in Philadelphia and being the superhero Shazam But he’s starting to feel left out not being able to match the greats like Batman Aquaman etc. Plus they are all growing up soon to go their own separate ways He hasn’t fully adjusted to calling Rosa his mom he only sees her as just a temporary foster mother Mary is growing up the most and she wants to contribute to the world as a non-super powered being with others her own age Things change though when the wizard warns him about the daughters of Atlas coming after him and his siblings; Hespera, Anthea, and Calypso Anthea is more of the voice of reason in the group as she tries to find a more palpable way to get what they want They believe they were robbed of the power of the gods and they are willing to ruin the world to obtain it They plan to rebuild their realm on ours to punish us for the betrayal over a thousand years ago This sequel leans more towards the fun action than the previous film Not all the jokes work but I got some decent chuckles No pacing issues though it gets straight to the point, you don’t feel any lags Still retains the comedy and lightheartedness; it’s balanced well and has a good amount of heart Loving Zachary Levi still and I like the addition of Helen Mirren and Lucy Liu They act like actual sisters with conflicting ideals One amazing cameo from another DC character! Dives deeper into the Greek mythology and so many inside references to the comics Sandberg inserts all kinds of crazy creatures from unicorns to gorgons to dragons etc. Dylan Grazer in particular is the heart and center of the picture believing he can fly solo; yet he realizes just because you’re friends with the cool heroes doesn’t necessarily make you cool The story here centers on wish fulfillment; asking if you’re enough, if you’ll be left behind all over again, being the best person you can be is god like, you don’t have to do everything on your own, the tighter you hold onto your loved ones the more they pull away A step down from the original in some ways but still exciting and action-packed enough to make for a fun time with lots of personality

As I kept watching this I couldn't help but feel disappointed, the plot has some potential and yet doesn't capitalize on it. The sequel lacks the charm of it's predecessor and completely abandoned a plot point set up as a post credit scene from the first film. If I were to make a positive point this sequel is that the cast did great despite given such poor material to work with

Shazam 2 is a disappointment. It doubles down on your standard shallow blockbuster superhero set pieces that have become all too common in Hollywood nowadays, at the cost of the heartwarming relatable found foster family dynamics that made the first film so special. Billy Batson and his said foster family have a very reduced presence in the film and are practically replaced with their less interesting superhero counterparts, making the film feel very unbalanced compared to the first. Zachary Levi's Shazam becomes more of an irritant due to his increased screen time and begins to loose his charm as the character. Mary Marvel is less effected by this, due to her actress playing both her civilian and superhero counterparts, but due to the focus on the set pieces, parts of her performance and story make little sense in the final film due to scenes that were cut. Add in some forgettable villains, a forgettable love interest that is only there for the paycheck, and DCEU connections to remind you that this is still part of said universe, Shazam: Fury of the Gods is fine enough for those who are only there for the set pieces. But if you are looking for more depth than that, you are better off re-watching the first movie.

Muito bom o filme! Recomendo assistir. É uma adaptação que entrega um nível de qualidade parecido com o filme que antecede este. Além disso, é um filme de Super-herói divertido.
