    It's bad really really bad.

Tem filmes piores. Talvez a culpa seja de baixo orçamento, mas acredito que o roteiro é quem prejudicou o projeto. Falas bobas, construção simples demais. A atuação é bem básica e sutil. Um filme de sessão da tarde que não assusta ninguém.

Shortcut: The Road Less Traveled, and for Good Reason Ah, "Shortcut," the cinematic masterpiece that makes you question your life choices and the entire concept of movie-making itself. The film proudly declares, 'Who needs a coherent plot when we can throw in a psycho-killer for no apparent reason?' The storyline is so basic your GPS would yawn sleepily. A lovely bunch of typical teens, each a living, breathing stereotype, embark on what is incorrectly labelled a "Shortcut." They encounter a dead sheep because nothing invariably screams abject horror like woolly cadavers. Enter the tongue-eating psycho-killer. Why? Well, that's a question the movie doesn't bother answering. Because who needs a motive when you have a murderous maniac around? Though the characters tick all the hackneyed teen stereotype boxes, they get along like a perfect family at a Utopian Thanksgiving dinner. Apparently, bullying has gone extinct in this parallel universe. Come on! Who knew a fat kid, a brainy lass with glasses, and a bad boy could coexist without a single eye roll or sarcastic comment? The writers must have raided a high school yearbook for inspiration but forgot to add any semblance of real human interaction. And let's talk sensibly about the abandoned WWII bunker in the middle of nowhere, still miraculously powered. What are the odds? I'd say it's about as likely as finding a gripping plot twist in this movie. Strangely, "Shortcut" manages to redeem itself, thanks to the director's skilful handling of the sinking ship that is the script. The hectic pace keeps you on your toes if only to distract from the unfortunate fact that the tragic characters are as believable as a unicorn in a tutu. The performances are as average as your everyday breakfast cereal. Blame it on the dialogue and characterization, not the actors. They did their best. It's a shame the writer didn't give them much to work with. Ultimately, "Shortcut" is a guilty pleasure. Turn off your brain, blithely ignore the stereotypes, and brace yourself for the predictable bolt-on ending. Luckily for the viewers, boredom isn't on the table.

Doesn't hook you into the movie making it boring

I was very hopeful for this film until about 10 minutes in. You have your typical mix of kids from the "nerd", " jock", "quiet moody girl", " the fat one/comedy relief" and the supposed "bad boy" who looks about 9 years old and is as convincing of a bad boy as Dick Van Dyke as a cockney. It is sterotypical and quite laughable. It could have had a lot of potential as a good film but it tries to cram too much content into a short space of time without really going anywhere with it and no explanation of how they got there!

I was pleasantly surprised at the high quality production, wonderful acting, and overall storyline.

There only a few issues with the movie; bad acting, poor direction leading to reactions that make no sense (someone being atk'd and killed so everyone turns their backs to it and just kinda screams like they are pretending to be surprised at a birthday party, gun shots at the bus but lets not react at all and just keep looking out the window, ect), story is odd but not in a good way, they do the "black guy dies first" cliche, the monster looks like a messed up prop from a better movie (did they get it on sale?) and its monster is as threatening as a children's tv monster (o look it will just not do anything aggressive at all and just leave when you shine a flashlight at it).

While there are great performances, intense moments, and a little bit of blood, Shortcut is a creature feature whose creature comes up short.

This movie had potential if they stuck with the tone from the trailer and the first 20 minutes. Yes, the acting was subpar, but the plot was rushed and there was ambiguity feelings between the characters.

Not that great. First part of the movie was interesting and had a good premise, in addition to this it was shot very well. Second half of the movie was very boring and not scary or interesting. The disappointing thing is that the movie had potential but failed to deliver. A good watch if you are 10 years old perhaps.
