Pop-tastic karaoke animation...

While there are no surprises whatsoever here, the perky charm remains.

This is just cacophonous mayhem.

Let's just say, Sing was stuffed with poignant/cheeky surprises and this new film's not short of them either.

In Sing 2's defence, the film is at least enthusiastic about its own overabundance, and the new celebrity voice additions fit nicely into the mix.

Your kids will love it.

Sing 2 thrives through the emphasis on its main theme and the bond formed between two of its central characters.

The biggest issues with the film come down to familiarity, predictability, and a notable drop in song quality.

There is just something sterile about most of the Illumination filmography. Sing 2 lacks an underlying heart.

Thanks to tons of toe-tapping tunes and a charismatic voice cast, Sing 2 is a heartwarming crowdpleaser of the highest order - and even an improvement on its already amusing predecessor.
