Not good. The psych thriller aspect isn't properly developed. The acting is OK, Lawrence Fishburn does his tough guy thing, Casey Affleck is OK, but not that believable. Everyone else is useless. There is SO much wrong with this in terms of scifi world building it's sad. Do yourself a favour - give this one a skip.

Trash "psychological thriller" wrapped in a "SciFi" package to trick people. Utterly trash writing, waste of two great actors

I felt this film had a good story and a nice twist . Casey Affleck & Laurence Fishburne were good in this .

Casey Affleck seemed to be in a permanent state of exhaustion and boredom.

I really enjoyed the movie and find the negative reviews about the ending interesting. I think some critics may be missing the point, as the ending actually reinforces the psychological effects of spending years in space on the human mind.

Very good movie The ending left me wondering what happened to John. What was real and was not. Loved the actors. Especially Casy

This movie made me sign up and log on just to comment. People are ridiculous today, but I had no idea they were this toxic, reckless and stupid. There are so many underlying themes. I swear we need to start attaching a warning label to everything: "Don't watch if you have an IQ lower than --" Seriously you have to be smarter than the average bum to understand what's going on here. Don't watch sci-fi you still think mud wrestling is entertainment.

This movie started off strong but about halfway through you got a sneaking suspicion that it buttered you up for an hour and a half just to at the final half hour take a hot steaming shyamalan on you! AND IT DOES! You'll be so pissed off that you'll google who wrote this bathtub full of abortions and you'll be surprised shyamalan is not connected to it but the guy who wrote this definitely followed the shyamalan manual for stupid suprise endings. Once! Just once I want a good space movie to enjoy but everytime it turns out to be physiological screw job/ soap opera. Guess I'll have to be content with the Martian and the expanse
