Spy x Family Code: White

Kids in the audience will probably get a kick out of the whole affair. The film does try to be serious and sentimental at times — often to no avail — but at least it’s never boring.

It gets away with its plot contrivances and general silliness by never taking itself too seriously, and delivering plenty of genuine laughs.

A fun, but forgettable Forger family flight of fancy that's enjoyable on its own terms.

It’s breezy fun with superior animation.

It may not “mean” anything to the canon, and emotionally arrives in the same place as episodes that have come before, but this isn’t a show where canon matters too much: only how much fun you’re having seeing this side story unfold.

It never seems to know where it's going. Fans of the show I'm sure will adore it, but if you don't know the series already you'll probably find yourself lost.

Everything I wanted from a Spy x Family movie. It delivered on the action scenes, the cute family bonding, and, most importantly, the fun, light-hearted comedy layering its meaningful themes.

SPY x FAMILY CODE: White is a superb side story for the wider universe in which it is set, with all the charm and characters you know and love, while also being a great introduction for new fans.
