It was a very enjoyable movie the songs it remind of the beach blanket movies

Dull as dirt. But for "The Syphilis Song", this is so not worth sitting through. Consult such classics as "Horror of Party Beach" and "The Beach Girls and the Monster" to see how a proper beach party/monster movie mash up is done. It's like they forgot to make this entertaining...

The only reason to watch this is for some cool surf rock and to learn what a "skunk ape" is, but soundtrack alone doesn't make a movie. The whole beach party/monster movie spoof is pleasant enough but never particularly funny.

The best part about this movie was the music (specifically the syphilis song). Tries too hard to be a straight-up 60's style monster movie (when it should have been more of a spoof) though and suffers from it. It's dull as dirt actually.

It's a beach party, girl-band, monster movie from the producer of Aqua Teen that was made in 12 days, with a budget of $100k and shot on beautiful 35mm. If director Jay Edwards brings it to your town, check it out.

It's not a tribute to old beach party monster movies, it IS an old beach party monster movie. With a killer soundtrack.
