It seems that everything is crazy, creative, with the foundation for a richly exciting movie, but the trouble here, according to the classics, lies in the script. This is a dull, not funny, not inventive story with exactly the same set of characters, even from the very beginning with a sharp flash-forward and a title, 25 years later it becomes obvious that the story is critically lacking in elaboration. Yes, at least with a very small snapshot of the life of the main character, the seeker. We could have learned about the difficulties that he went through during the absence of his father in his life, how he built a family and gradually lost hope of anyone reuniting with him, but no, he's been there for 40 years already. He has a wife, a son, and in general he is already a completely different person, whom he painfully introduces us to again. The conflict between fathers and children is depressingly sad and smacks of being worked out at the level of a Chicken Little. From my story you can already imagine this line from start to finish, and believe me, you guessed everything exactly. Of course, in the end the seeker will forgive his father, who abandoned him for 25 years and had no intention of returning. Everything, this is presented, too naively and terribly clichéd. I will not deny that there is one interesting discovery with a plot twist, which reveals to us why this world is very strange and the twist would even work. If only they don't not give a damn so much about everything else that happens in this movie. And once again we are convinced that no matter how amazing the creative beautiful world the authors invent, interesting stories must unfold in it, otherwise it all makes no sense. It seems that absolutely all the energy here was spent on the visuals and the concept; there simply weren't any more creative forces left. The strange world is Disney's strangest mistake, a mishmash of ideas that went nowhere and I have such a fear that such goodness from Disney now there will be more and more. Sterile chewing gum, purely so that the studio does not stand idle.

Doesn't have the creative spark, technical looks or storyline to make this movie interesting

Tired of Disney's messaging problem. Instead of just making innocent magical fantastic children's stories. They want to obsessively push their sexual values on other people's children. It gross and icky. I'm heading over to dreamworks where I can watch a film with kids.

More rubbish pandering from Disney that seems more important now than actually making a good film.

We were surprised to see all of the negative comments about this movie. The concept is based on ancient folklore from several cultures and is one of the more original and interesting stories from Disney animation in quite some time. I understand that there was certain content that really upset some people, but it's a minor factor in the movie and really feels like a complete non-issue. In fact, we'd been wanting to see Strange World just to see if it was worthy of the uproar. What we found was a great story based off of an ancient tale, rich (albeit modern styling) animation, the classic bits of comic relief, culminating in action and struggles to mend a multitude of relationships and issues.
