Street Gang: How We Got to Sesame Street

Moving documentary that brings to light the inspiration for the show's creation. I was a beneficiary of their work which was ahead of its time. This documentary evokes the gamut of emotions. I loved it so much, upon completion, I immediately watched it again. I can't recommend this movie any more highly. One of the best documentaries I've seen.

If you're an old school Sesame Street fanatic like myself, you'll love this documentary! How the show began and evolved into the pop culture staple of our lives. Touches the heart!

Street Gang: How We Got to Sesame Street is one the best documentaries I've seen. It's incredible to see the vision of the creative team come to life and also learn the mission behind the film. It truly was a once in a lifetime gift to society. They were ahead of their time and the perfect team to create a show that shaped many of our lives. I recommend this film to everyone I know.

Overall, having watched Sesame Street a lot as a young boy, I found this documentary highly insightful, and pleasing with many heartfelt and sad moments.  Have you ever wondered how one of the world's most beloved TV programs came to be?  Well, the answers are here. It's a positive experience that gives deep insights thanks to old set footage and interviews from key cast and crew.  Getting the series off the ground had its challenges behind the scenes, and I found myself surprised by this documentary's information.  I found this documentary, in the end, to be fascinating.

Wish I could express the novel that I want to but not enough space... this documentary is everything & more than I could have expected! My life & everything I've grown up knowing, experimenting, & learning from would never have been what &/or where I am if it wasn't for Sesame Street & PBS!!! Not one day goes by that I don't watch something on PBS & Couldn't b prouder that my 2 kids enjoyed shows from there also. I will always enjoy everything PBS has to offer!! Keep up all u do.. If you can watch this without tears of joy (and some sorrow) you have no heart. I was eight when Sesame Street debuted so I was slightly older than their target audience but still have fond memories of watching it well into my teens.

Fascinating look at this iconic series and the visionaries who brought it to life. Most touching segment dealing with the death of one of the characters. Funniest segment the off camera scenes. Makes you laugh and cry. Fabulous documentary!

Passes the time but that's about all.

For anyone who has either grown up on Sesame Street or raised a child on the show, this is a must-see documentary film. As non-critical docs go, this is likely the best ever. Despite missing Frank Oz, which is just mind-boggling, it's flawless. Hubby and wife both loved it for numerous reasons. It's perfectly strung together with seamless transitions that make the movie flow so fast, you'll want so much more. It will make you cry, then smile, sometimes in the same scene. A wonderful film!
