Great cast. Could have been a good movie but was very disjointed, awkward. Didn't have much of a semblance of an ending….

This one deserves a bit more respect than the critics gave it... Granted it's not Band of Brothers but it's also not bad.

Does not say much for the vaunted British army. Incompetent leadership, cowards and indifference to the common soldier. Daniel Craig plays his part well as a stupid man bashing his head against a wall of authority, but the script is lacking. Not much in the way of action.

SWORD OF HONOR Good show. Entertaining and enjoyable WWII drama/comedy. Witty. Rolls along but rather choppy in certain places for a 193-minute film. On the whole provides more than a few chuckles. Daniel Craig was quite funny as Guy Crouchback. I think that a familiarity with Evelyn Waugh's "Sword of Honor" trilogy of novels helped me to better appreciate the biting satire of the piece, including some of the more subtle points of the story that the film seemed to just gloss over, for example, what exactly the sword of honor refers to.

A wonderful ensemble cast shines in this film headed by Daniel Craig. Wow! Is there nothing this actor can not do? Consistently brilliant in every thing he does on screen I am convinced now that he is by far the best actor of his generation. A great story wonderfully filmed. A must see for all ages. The ending is so moving and powerful it will stay with you for days. Some fans of the film may have bones to pick with this production but for those like me who have not read it the film plays beautifuly. The locations are stunning and the film has immense sweep and drama. Comedy also plays a major role in this film so in the end it is bitter sweet and oh so satisfying. Epic in scope and yet intimate and touching a wonderful film that kept me glued to the tube.

A more than decent tv adapatation of Evelyn Waugh's trilogy, if a little slow and lacking in actual action. It does however convincingly relay the exasperations of the well-intentioned Daniel Craig, surrounded by the advancement of the menagerie of cowards, cads and chancers around him.

a bit too long, and the story lost me in the middle of it.

Way too slow, too long, too complicated, not enough action, the action is not concentrated enough, total lack of aesthetic ambition, lack of originality, good actors though, it's a shame to waste so much talent for such a useless flick. Once more directors and writers and producers should ask themselves: "why are we doing this film" real hard before doing any movie. It's a shame, I really like Craig.
