, 89% Audience Score- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsUnpacking New Orleans music and musical history is a might task, this documentary does it justice in an informative, emotional and just way. The music and interviews captured are important historical parts of American history.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsThe music alone is reason to see Take Me to the River. NO R&B is the common thread to all the songs, both new and old, which are shown being recorded in "live take" studio sessions. The younger and elder artists work together and discuss how they maintain the feeling of New Orleans music as the world changes. Meanwhile, the narrator discusses the history of NO music and how it forms the basis of American music. Fantastic and positive experience.

- Rating: 2 out of 5 starsThe music sounded good but the director didn't make a compelling narrative out of such rich source material. If I'm being honest, I fell asleep twice while watching it.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsSuch a brilliant and beautiful film with amazing talent. I can't wait to get the soundtrack. Truly a great film. Makes you want to go to New Orleans even if you never wanted to go just to hear such beautiful music and history.
