The music alone is reason to see Take Me to the River. NO R&B is the common thread to all the songs, both new and old, which are shown being recorded in "live take" studio sessions. The younger and elder artists work together and discuss how they maintain the feeling of New Orleans music as the world changes. Meanwhile, the narrator discusses the history of NO music and how it forms the basis of American music. Fantastic and positive experience.

Such a great look into New Orleans and its music origins

An excellent uplifting documentary that captures the essence and spirit of the musical traditions of New Orleans.

I love love love this film and all the people in it and all the people who made it!!!

The music sounded good but the director didn't make a compelling narrative out of such rich source material. If I'm being honest, I fell asleep twice while watching it.

Such a brilliant and beautiful film with amazing talent. I can't wait to get the soundtrack. Truly a great film. Makes you want to go to New Orleans even if you never wanted to go just to hear such beautiful music and history.
