Original story, great acting, and excellent direction. Finally a new horror movie that didn't waste 2 hours of my life. Worth the watch for sure!

I’m not a huge fan of horror but I still like to give it a chance. That being said, this movie was meh. There were some good jump scares and the horror was scary. But they didn’t have a very good story line or much character development. I think there were too many characters and not enough time with them. The movie was short so it felt a bit rushed (only 1 hour snd 35 mins) On a positive note, the movie made 10 million on a 2.5 million budget. So it was successful in that aspect.

Very disappointing as a horror film, but still very entertaining. The trailer made it seem like it would be a terrifying movie, but this is not scary. Smile (2022) actually performed much better, which is why even Stephen King liked it.

It was so hyped up when I went to see it and I was really disappointed, it’s an obvious plot with characters that lack personality, the scariest part of it was the guy making out with a dog. The climax was predictable and the end was messy

It had sooo much potential BUT when you can't make the audience like or even care about the main characters you miss the mark a bit. Still one of the best -albeit gross at times - horror flicks of recent years. It just has a second class feel about it that threw us off a bit.

Absolutely horrible, what happened to horror movies that actually scary. This one was a let down completely. The trailer was scarier than the actual movie it’s self.

It was good at first but it’s probably not recommended for younger audiences

Innovative and effective horror movie. It had the normal staples of a horror movie with some creative elements and an interesting concept. What made this different is how they started off with the possessed item knowing it had “magic” from the very beginning. There was none of the slow buildup where the characters discover the evil item - the movie skips past that (smartly) and just gets right into the suspense.

As a person who is very close to my family, especially my younger siblings, the terror that this movie brought me was traumatizing. It left me with an unsettled feeling of grief induced fear that I associate with scenes from Midsommar and Hereditary. Visually it was stunning and brutal, in a way that reminds me of The Sadness, Train to Busan, and maybe 28 days later. However, all other references aside, this was a cross between folk horror, indigenous horror, possession and young grief that I didn’t know would have me crawling out of my seat by movies end. 10/10, 100/100, etc.

The movie was worth every penny I spent on the ticket, very gorey and creepy. Acting was amazing and the plot had me at the edge of my seat the whole time. 10/10 recommend
