Tar

There are several strong suits to Tar that bubble to the surface and keep your interest...However, Tar does get stuck in some of the muck that weighs it down with a lack of clarity and intent.

This one is destined for the bottom of the bargain bin, where it will probably get stuck.

Works neither as a horror picture nor as a comedy-or as a mixture of the two.

Tar delivers exactly what it appears to be: It's a low-budget horror flick that mostly succeeds in blending deliberately tacky horror with an impish sense of humor.

I like the film's idea and the fun it has with a legend, but I wish it were executed just a bit better, no pun intended.

Let's just say this is seriously inept and leave it at that.

With any luck, drive-in theaters will be sucked into a tar pit before they can actually play the movie
