TAYLOR SWIFT | THE ERAS TOUR

"Eras Tour" is a wonderful representation of the music, performance and spectacle of Taylor's fabulous show, which, as a concert, sets the bar as high as "Stop Making Sense" did as a concert film.

It's a really good document of a concert. I feel like I have a sense of what it would have been like to see those shows.

It is wildly entertaining but it is also a curious product that speaks to the larger themes of our IP-based age of content – recycled, reused and repackaged spin-offs that find new, often exciting ways to extract consumers.

With its labyrinthine arc, jumbled chronology and dazzling changes of tone, milieu and costume, it’s Swift’s ode to invention and self-reinvention, the many different lives she’s lived and faces she’s presented over the course of her career.

I couldn’t tell where the crowd noise in the film ended and where the crowd noise around me began.

I did not enter the theater a Swiftie, but I can say with confidence that this immediately goes on the list of great concert documentaries.

Small imperfections aside, the film succeeds beyond our wildest dreams at its two aims: to offer a religious experience for us Swifties, and to spread the gospel of Swift far and wide[.]

“The Eras Tour” is Taylor Swift's “This is It,” her Central Park concert, her “Blonde Ambition” Tour. It represents a very successful career and, in the process, looks like a ball for everyone on and off the stage.

Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour is exactly what its title advertises: a brilliantly captured concert film that puts a well-deserved exclamation point on Swift’s dominant 2023.

[capsule review] Whether you're a ‘Swiftie’ or not, if you enjoy pop music or concerts in general, go see it on the biggest screen. It's the closest thing of being there live in person. The scope, style, scale, sophistication... it's a spectacle!
