It's a funny movie with a good cast and I would rate this a 79% on my scale

The only good part was the "Hey! Where you going little baæbÿ?" 😭😂

The writing, voice, animation and story was unbelievably bad.

Movies like this remind me that I am supposed to check Rotten Tomatoes before renting a movie for my kids. Something must have been lost in the (Russian?) translation, because the story is absolute trash. The voice acting is horrible all around (why did I even give Pauly Shore a chance? Must have been a brief moment of insanity or a ill-advised gesture of monumental philanthropy). A few scenes are visually beautiful, like the fireworks scene, but other than that this movie has nothing. The voice dubbing work seems like they tried to match the dialogue of the original voice acting and just didn't care that the dialogue in English made no sense. The problem is that the words didn't match the film anyway. My five year-old daughter started playing around the living room, ignoring the television. The snake is needlessly frightening, and the audience doesn't even get the "big payoff" which should have come with what was supposed to be a touching ending. Like many, I was suckered in by the marketing on the poster that claims, "MADAGASCAR". The fine print is "one of the writers of Madagascar". Benefit from my mistake: Don't rent or buy this horrible, horrible film.

Atrocious drivel. Overacted voice-overs, flakey story line, almost constant (any very loud) background music throughout. My kids started wondering the cinema in search of something better to do.

Animation was YouTube quality, badly dubbed in English, with a convoluted storyline. 4 and 6 year old sons seemed to enjoy it.
