Endless dark hallways and some lackluster child acting ensure that this Stephen King adaptation meanders it way towards any sort of payoff that is truly terrifying.

A psychiatrist is visited by an unexpected patient who claims his children were killed by a supernatural entity that feeds itself from darkness. Before committing suicide, the troubled man believes this dark force is now coming after the psychiatrist's family. "The Boogeyman" explores one off the most common phobias: the fear of darkness. And it does a brilliant job by making this old fear even scarier!

This movie is more depressing than my life, would not recommend to my worst enemy. Jump scares were 0/10, would prefer to watch jojo siwa make another song than watch this garbage again!!! BROTHER EUGHHHH.... Good yards.

Oh my god this movie is so freaking generic and unnecessary and totally not original. It has cheap jump scares and nothing new to bring to the horror genre.

Unbearably derivative. Frankly, an unnecessary horror entry conglomerate of multiple better films surrounded yet again around a vulnerable family being haunted after a traumatic event. This is hilariously formulaic - as if Hollywood screenwriters are officially devoid of any original ideas. By no means is this a bad film. It simply suffers from familiarity and, predictable characters and narrative, and thus, I felt myself disengaged for majority of the runtime.
