This Canadian feature has Claire Bloom as an English woman who leaves her marriage after 40 years.
Generically whimsical little film.
Clumsy in the extreme, working very much on the surface in both thematic and technical ways.
The novel, which alone of Beresford-Howe's works still has many readers and admirers, is not done justice by this film.
It is hobbled by the sentimental approach taken by writer-director Claude Fournier.
