Despite some pacing issues, the film manages to somewhat untangle a potentially compelling true story, largely thanks to the charisma of Ma Dong-seok.

Action, revenge and thrills, leave u sitting at the edge of your seat. Truly spectacular script, not some confusing plot unlike other tryhard movies nowadays. Videography methods during build-up scenes were also on point and contributed to the tension building throughout. Fight scenes and reasoning for every event made logical sense and made you root for the main characters as the story went along. I really enjoyed viewing this movie! Highly recommend to watch this!

A solid Korean thriller with an awesome premise, The Gangster, The Cop, The Devil will stir your brain, make you laugh, and have you wishing you were as cool as Don Lee.

Absolutely brilliant luv. My favorite scene was when the gangster and the cop started making out with the killer aggressively at the prison shower.

A near miss. I give the movie credit for an original story line, but it shoves every gangster/cop movie cliche ever devised into its 110 minutes. Kudos to Ma Dong-seok for another masterful performance. He nails the unflappable tough guy role every time out. Kim Syung-kyu is also excellent as the creepy killer.

Gangsters often get romanticised. But I don't think that is necessarlly bad. Even though they are the outlaws of societies they still operate with certain ethical principles. The devil does not.
