Good war movie in that it show how pointless it is

The film starts out slow, but once Chickie Donohue gets to Vietnam things get interesting. Since The Greatest Beer Run Ever is based on a true story, this tends to limit the screenplay, so don't expect this to be as interesting as The Deer Hunter. The film stays true to the book with the exception of a brutal helicopter scene. That scene was fiction.

80/100 - good movie, they did a good job balancing the humor and gravity of the war.

Great story, great cast. I was surprised to find it was based off of true events, but I really appreciated the way it forced people to see things from different perspectives. A good mix a humour and emotion.

This has got to be the most under-rated movie of 2022. Stunning performances from Zac Efron as John ‘Chickie' Donohue and Russell Crowe as Coates the war reporter. The fear in Coates' eyes seems real, as well as his intoxicating need to capture the truth about the utter chaos of the Vietnam war. For Chickie, a light-hearted mission to boost his soldier friends' morale quickly turns to feeling the undeniable gravity of war, death, and chaos.

I found it thin and aimless.

Did not know what to expect, but I sure did like this film. Vietnam and all its messy story was in full display. I thoroughly enjoyed the ride.

This is an excellent movie, highly recommended!!

Though with a working comedic front as priorly expected with a nice cast, it seriously provides a thoughtfully glimpsing argument surrounding the Vietnam War narrative that should apply to similar militaristic perceptions, even if its accuracy comes to occasional question. (B+)

This movie was actually incredible. I thought it was going to be something lighthearted revolving around partying and beer drinking, only to be surprised it was based on a true story, a crazy true story. It actually went really deep into the Vietnam War and War in general, with a nice dose of how our politicians lie. The negative reviews from the official tomato critics on this movie are laughable. Just watch it.
