Skipped through most of it, but the parts I saw seemed kind of trippy and interesting.

A family of mask sporting, super-vaccinated leftist hermit psychopaths so terrified of the plandemic they lock themselves in their own home and slowly begin to mutate into brainwashed agoraphobic sheeple. As their own demented fears of leaving their own home become more and more warped, their brains become mushy soup and the chaos ensues. The fact that there are actual people out there who really behave like this makes the film all-the-more frightening!

I have to admit that I was really surprised to log on and see this getting panned by the audience. I thought this movie was really fun and pretty scary too. It has some really nice jump scares and I'm not one that jump-scares easily. There are some really rich moments of brooding dread and enough parts in the movie that really keep you guessing on what is real and what isn't real. I understand a few of the plot-hole comments that are out there, but it never really spoiled the viewing experience for me. The supernatural brush of the whole thing paints over more than a few cinema sins. Others ragged on the pandemic premise of it and said that they thought it just blended in with the rest of the Covid-topic movies. I must live a sheltered life, I guess. I've never seen another Covid-based movie. This was my first. Brought back some really terrible memories! LOL. I liked the metaphors involved. Perhaps the sickness metaphors are being overused in other films. I dunno. When I started it and saw the opening credits there wasn't a single name I recognized in the cast. You see that and you expect the acting to be like a Hallmark Christmas movie. But, no. The acting was quite good given the obscurity of the cast list. I say give it a shot.

The Harbinger certainly offers what you would call a ‘slow burn'. If you can stick with it for the first 50 minutes, you may get something out of the last 35 minutes where considerably more happens. It has its moments of creepiness and plays off the whole ‘quarantine' atmosphere, but may not tick all the boxes for folks looking for a worthwhile yet brief horror flick.

Any horrors achieving exceptionality strongly captivates in trances towards effective scares conjured by an utterly compelling story, or by the performances and artistic gazes that powered the eerie sceneries. This may not be as strong at that level, but it's one of the finest when tackling the subconscious subject in the mindful backdrop though executed in surreal fashion that turns out as the striking breakdown effect without holding back on the mythos, especially when contributing towards the timely topical narrative at the time. Two movies called "The Harbinger" in 2022. THIS Harbinger movie is more Rated R and the other "The Harbinger" is PG but tbh I was really entertained with the other one (knowing ahead of time it was PG). With THIS movie, I was expecting to be scared. Uh….no.

Plot holes. Foggy premise. Really bad encounter with the evil thing towards the end. The acting wasn't half bad, I'll give it that. The scares just weren't scary and the movie just wasn't that good.

Finished watching this movie 5 min ago and it sure kept me awake on a late Friday night! A lot of horror movies promise a lot but more often than not you feel disapointed, this I found ticks all the boxes I found it disturbing in parts rather than scary, 90 min flew by. I'd watch it again. 👍

Some more covid-19 pandemic horror, face masks and all. Pandemic-era psychological horror that doesn't make a whole lot of sense as it doesn't amount to anything. Introducing characters who are part of a dream or hallucination BEFORE MEETING THE CHARACTER WHO IS HAVING THE DREAM OR HALUCINATION was probably a bad idea.
