The film doesn't shy away from addressing uncomfortable truths or presenting difficult conversations, instead opting for a candid and unflinching portrayal of the harsh realities faced by marginalized communities.

The Hate U Give directly addresses the issues faced by the black community. It depicts problems in a way that makes them understandable and shows the immense consequences of racism. Tillmann Jr. Found the perfect balance of drama and realism. The pictures are dramatic but not overly dramatic. They convey the magnitude and urgency of the problems without loosing a feeling for reality. Especially if you do not have many contact points with the topic of racism in this form, it makes you aware of how bad consequences can turn out. This movie let's it's viewers think about it more than twice. For me personally, this movie and the basic idea has stuck with me since I have seen it the first time. Even after watching it for many times, I believe it does an excellent job of depicting the social gap between black and white communities in the United States of America and gives an example of racism nobody should feel positive about. I hope this movie let's many people overthink their daily behaviour and helps us as a society grow together a little bit.

I've seen the first 20 minutes of this movie so many times it's been burnt into my brain. The boyfriend was so diabolically down bad it was kind of funny. Some of the serious moments in the movie were kind of funny for some reason like the "fried chicken" scene no joke I thought that scene was like an hour in the first time I watched it and I was shocked when I realized it was just over 20 minutes in. Didn't really like it that much but I don't want to be cancelled so I'll just give it 2.5 stars.

Performances and writing for this film were done very well. The movie is very interesting. Film depicts what is happening in the USA consistently showing a girl coming to illogical conclusions about the murder of a friend by a cop. Instead of focusing on the faults of her murdered friend and her own community, she rather blame white people and police. Illogical racial paranoia takes over and she alienates herself from her white friends. Thus, nothing becomes better for anyone. Which depicts real life. This movie needs to be seen by all.
