Guy Pierce pulls off a compelling role in a story with many twists and turns along the way. The plot could have been better developed to answer some questions, but that didn't detract from the slow burn that was carefully lit from the beginning. The understated music played a role in flaming the embers of intrigue throughout the story… it led the plot without being heavy-handed. Almost unnoticeable. All in all, surely worth a watch. I don't believe the critics' low rating is justified… I'd give it 80% fresh.

I think it was a good plot and good shooting, good acting, only lacking uniqueness. I also believe that it has connections with the philosopher Heraclitus. Apart from these it was a non theological almost an atheist movie, and I believe that is the reason why all those fancy American latently fanatic religious critics wrote negative comments about it. Now, tell me how can I trust rotten tomatoes critics that have no tolerance for deviant movies or scare to favor such a non religious movie? You are all BS!

Weird atmospheric thriller about an eccentric Northern English bloke being menaced by a fan. Guy Pearce's accent is great, his monologues are fun and often funny, the movie is beautifully shot with rolling landscapes. The story is mostly fantastic well paced and eventful although the third act is slightly clichéd I'm still giving the movie a 4 as it still manages to maintain it's tense suspenseful atmosphere right to the end. Most of the performances are wonderful. The first scene between Guy Pearce and Alex Pettyfer is especially electrifying. Guy Pearce using a Northern English accent for his confused boozy novelist is a reet treat.

Well, what can i say?! It's never actually boring, but besides a surprising fact, close to the end of the movie, it never produces any real meaning and/or tension (which, in the case of a stalker cenario) should be imminent. It leaves you with the sensation of having wasted nearly two hours of your life for nothing. 3 1/2 of 10 points.

First, why don't they supply subtitles so you can actually understand what all the mumbling is about? Not helped by background music that drowns out the speech. Guy Pearce is a good actor, but the story unfolds itself very chaotically. i should not have to guess what is going on, but with this movie I had to. I honestly think the ambition of those making films nowadays overcomes their ability to tell a story, and basically that's what the audience wants - to understand and assimilate the story. I feel like I just spent 2 hours watching a half baked attempt at telling a story.
