The Intruder succeeds in making this scenario less blatantly paranoid and misanthropic than it often appears... It also helps that Quaid, showing remarkable dedication to the role, jumps effortlessly between magnanimous old fool and evil.

Iit's high time Quaid truly embraced the role of a real horror-movie psycho, and the key pleasure of... The Intruder lies in watching the actor bounce among extremes of charm, anxiety, chumminess, and madness.

A thriller filled with unnecessary relationship drama that goes nowhere and a message about gun violence that's instantly tossed aside. Dennis Quaid is the one saving grace.

This formulaic suspense/thriller with its toxic mix of obsession, anger and fear covers no new ground. What could happen that you haven't seen before? Not much.

The Intruder is a passable blend of dated home invasion thrillers and stalker movies.

I think with some editing this movie could have been a decent thriller, but ultimately it failed.

THE INTRUDER is crazy in a way that it really needs to be an unabashedly and whole-heartedly committed to its particular brand of madness.

Nothing will catch you off guard. Nothing will feel new or fresh. Yet it still manages to be reasonably fun in large part due to Quaid and a role he really sinks his teeth into.
