Based on my parasocial relationship with Dave Bautista and his mission to break free from the “WWE wrestler turned actor” mold, I can’t help but think even Glossu Rabban and Drax would be scratching their heads over his decision to play Joe Flood in The Killer’s Game. Bautista’s been all about dodging the one-note action hero trope, but this choice feels like a step back. Is this really pushing his range, or just pulling him back into the same old muscle-bound stereotype he’s been trying to shake off?

The Killer’s Game is a high-octane action film that embraces a campy, cartoonish style, with blood-soaked sequences reminiscent of Quentin Tarantino, though less refined. Dave Bautista shines in the action scenes, bringing his physicality to brutal and creative fight choreography, but the love story between his character Joe and Maize feels like the weakest part of the plot. The dialogue is often over-the-top, and most of the assassins feel like exaggerated caricatures, adding a touch of absurdity. While it’s not quite on the same level as John Wick or Nobody, The Killer’s Game delivers a fun, chaotic ride for those willing to embrace its outlandish tone.

The movie is what it needed to be. Fun action with a love story mixed in. Added bonus of a few heartfelt moments and chuckles.

The Killer's Game is definitely a popcorn. It won't challenge you but it's fun.

This was a perfectly fun action movie. Nothing overly special and the line them up and knock them down aspect of the other assassins was kind of of funny. With the way they did it presenting them each with their own unique traits it felt like an old time introduction to superhero villains. There were parts that were overly gory and other parts that were a bit cheesy. Fun experience, but largely forgettable.

Enjoyable mindless fun. I see the criticisms of the fake CGI blood, but overall it was a good movie. If you liked the Arnold Schwarzeneggar film Killing Gunther, then I think Killers Game suits your taste in action movies.

I was told this was a good movie, so I bought a ticket and watched it. This was not a good movie, but the guy behind me seemed to really enjoy it.
