The Killer's Game

What really makes the movie is Bautista, who projects a comforting sweetness even while he’s snapping some guy’s leg in half, and an intimidating brutality even when he’s struggling to flirt by text.

While Bautista is still as engaging as ever ... not even he can save this dud from quickly devolving into 100 minutes of blood-drenched tedium.

An action film with no thrills and a comedy bereft of laughs, The Killer’s Game plays like a tax shelter disguised as a movie.

While those conceits work well enough in movies starring Keanu, here they fall flat. The action choreography is better than passable, although Perry adds grindhouse-movie levels of gore and dismemberment in a dubious effort to up the thrill quotient.

The Killer's Game has a tired air of familiarity that makes it wear out its welcome long before its conclusion.

There’s a lot of fun to be had in this premise, but as it goes on, Perry’s film struggles to make the most of it. The world he places us in feels frustratingly underdeveloped.

The Killer’s Game is afoot, but unless you’re looking for what’s only intermittently a pleasant distraction, one heavily seasoned with violence, you need not play.

This is a Frankenstein movie, meaning the parts of it come from so many other action films, they tried to cobble it together and it just doesn't work. I just got bored, even with the explosions and the shooting, etc.

Who knew Dave Bautista could be a believable romantic lead.

Outdated, crass, and moronic, The Killer’s Game is overstuffed with hollow characters, stupid dialogue, and terrible performances. This annoying action flick (about an assassin who tries to stop his own assassination) is a flop in every way.
